Regulations
Good to know before you ask
FEMA safe room criteria (FEMA P-361 and P-320) and the ICC 500 standard set how shelters must resist tornado winds and debris. Ask installers which standard their product meets and for the test documentation.
Some states and counties offer safe room rebates funded by FEMA grants, and many communities keep a shelter registry for first responders. We do not install shelters ourselves and do not show prices.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Underground or above-ground?
Both protect well when built to FEMA or ICC 500 criteria. Above-ground rooms are easier to reach for people with limited mobility.
Are there grants?
Some states and counties run safe room rebate programs with FEMA funds. Check with your emergency management agency.
Should I register my shelter?
Many communities offer a registry so first responders know where to look after a tornado.
